I’m JC, the founder of Disciples Who Write.
I’m also a fifteen-year-old Seventh-Day Adventist Christian who’s proud to be a daughter of the King! I write Biblical fiction to help teens, including myself, to realize Bible figures were people with feelings just like ours. I write historical fiction to portray God’s love across the centuries and how his light shines into the darkest pasts. I write contemporary fiction to celebrate how God still loves us and changes our lives today. I write poetry to move hearts through messages of hope and redemption.
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me either reading, sketching, or trying delicious desserts. I love books, especially Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird and Victor Hugo’s Les Misérables. I mostly sketch animals, people, and flowers. And as for dessert, I’ll eat literally anything!
I created Disciples Who Write because I want to glorify Christ in my writing and encourage other writers to do the same. God has graciously given us a gift, but it is His, not ours. DWW’s mission statement can be declared in this one sentence: “He is the Author, I am the Pen.” Jesus Christ is Lord over everything we write. We are the pen in His hand, an instrument of His kingdom.
With God’s help, I pray that DWW will thrive as an inclusive Christ-centered community full of faith, fun, and encouragement. I hope you’ll stay and join the family!
