A New Vision for This Site! (Important)

Hey y’all!

I know what you’re all thinking – “JC, what are you doing back here? Aren’t you on hiatus until August 2?”

Told you no one could get rid of me so easily. 😉

I’m excited to tell y’all what’s going on, which I will be doing today. If you’ve visited the website today, you might have noticed things look a little different.

As you guys know, I decided to take a hiatus in order to do some reflective work with God. Well, the past 10 days since I last wrote, I’ve been doing just that, and I honestly didn’t realize how much it would benefit me. Long story short, I came to a crucial realization.

God has a new vision for this website.

So there’s a change around here.

Instead of joycarolineauthor.com, this site’s address has changed to…

Therefore, this comes with a new site name and tagline. Instead of Joy Caroline, this site’s name has changed to…

Disciples Who Write

Instead of Eat, Pray, Write, Repeat, this site’s tagline has changed to…

He is the Author, I am the Pen

I am super excited about these changes, and I really hope you guys are, too! In a minute, I’ll talk about what led me to the decision to make such big changes, but first, let me clarify:

Although this site’s address has changed (from joycarolineauthor.com to discipleswhowrite.com) I am using site redirect. This means that if you forget the new address and type in the old one, you will be redirected to the correct website. I know it can be confusing at first to remember a new address, and I want to make the change easy for y’all! So no worries – even if you forget the new address, you’ll be redirected to the correct site.

Now for the big question…

Why the changes?

I want this website to have a new mission, one that aligns more closely with God’s will. I want to reflect Christ in everything I do, and I’ve realized that he has a new vision for this site.

That new mission and that new vision are reflected in the new site title (Disciples Who Write) and the new tagline (He is the Author, I am the Pen).

I want this blog to be less about me and more about him. Like St. John the Baptist, I want to repeat every day of my life, “He must increase, but I must decrease” (John 3:30).

Moving forward, I want each post to focus on him. I want to create a Christ-centered community of writers who want to glorify Christ, because that’s what we must do with the gift he has given us. It is not ours, but his which he has graciously given. We must glorify him with what he has given us.

Hence, “He is the Author, I am the Pen.”

God is the true Lord over everything I write. I do not own my gift. He does. I am the pen in his hand. I am an instrument of his kingdom.

That’s why I’ve decided to focus more on him through this blog.

Another Announcement

I’ve decided to cut my hiatus one month short! Instead of returning on August 2, I will be returning on Monday, July 5.

I hope you guys don’t mind that change. 😉

Excited to have me back one month early? 😂

In all seriousness, I’m excited to be back here with y’all one month early. I’ve already got some awesome ideas for new posts. I’m really excited to move forward where God leads, with the new mission he has set out for me.

Also, this site has a NEW logo to reflect its new mission! There also may be a few changes to the site’s appearance, although nothing drastic.

Here’s the new logo!

What do y’all think? I love this new logo and hope you do, too! It’s very simple, but quite pretty. *applauds*

Again, I really, really hope you guys like the changes and are excited to see this blog’s new mission. Love you all, and see you in July!

  3. Girl, I LOVE your new mission for this site AND your logo looks fabulous!!!!! And that verse in John has honestly been one of my life prayers for a few years now. Actually, I just recently heard this song by I *think* Zach Williams that goes along with that verse. The chorus has basically been my prayer everytime I listen to it: “A little more like mercy, a little more like grace. A little more like kindness, goodness, love, and faith. A little more patience, a little more like peace. A little more like Jesus. A little less like me.” Anyway, can’t wait to see where you and your awesome new mission for you blog goes!!!! See you in July! <33

    1. Thank you so much!
It’s really a great verse to keep for a life prayer. I haven’t heard that song – I’ll have to look it up, as I love worship music. And those are awesome lyrics!
The support means a lot! See ya in July!
